The speaking section is done in front of an examiner, while the other three are done on a computer.

Listening

It is the first part of the exam, which is divided into four sections with ten questions each. It will take you around 30 minutes to listen to an audio recording and answer questions, such as "short answer," "summary, multiple choice," etc.

Reading

The reading part of the IELTS consists of 40 questions based on three readings that cover a range of subjects, including social, academic, and general interest themes. The examination tests a candidate's understanding of written English.

Writing

There are two tasks in the exam, and it lasts about 60 minutes. Here, you'll be asked to describe a chart or bar diagram, write an essay or a letter, or ask for information, among other things.
